The Giles Co. SCD has used a variety of grants to purchase equipment for renting to the public. The SCD makes this equipment available to people wanting to manage their resources properly but do not have the equipment to do so. The amount we charge is to cover costs of maintenance and insurance. This is a non-profit service and we are proud to be able to offer it to our clients. The Haybuster Drill has an 11’ span with 3 different bins for different types of seed. The drill needs a minimum 70hp tractor w/ hydraulics to operate it properly. The drill’s primary use is for planting Native Warm Season Grasses, but it can also be used to plant wildlife food plots. The rental rate is $4.00/acre or a $25.00 minimum. 20 ac. X $4.00 = $80.00 5 ac. X $4.00 = $20.00 which means the amount due is $25.00 |

The Adams Lime Spreader has a 9 ton capacity. The spreader needs a minimum of 70hp tractor w/ hydraulics to operate it properly. The spreader can not go in reverse without the press wheel being disengaged. The primary use of the spreader is to allow landowners to spread lime on small fields and areas where spreader trucks might not be able to go. The rental rate is $1.00/acre or $25.00/day whichever is greater. 20 ac. X $1.00 X 1 day = $25.00 40 ac. X $1.00 X 1 day = $40.00 |

The Small Spreader has limited capacity. The spreader can be pulled with a riding mower or an ATV. It can be hauled from place to place with a 5 x 8 trailer that is available. The primary use of this spreader is to spread seed and lime on small areas, a tractor and/or large piece of equipment would not be feasible.
